Pana Chocolate has teamed up with Port Phillip and Westernport CMA to hold their fifth annual Pana Chocolate Community Planting Day on Sunday 22nd October at Corranderk.

Pana Chocolate has planting 34,000 trees in Victoria  over the last four years and want to take that total to 50,000.

The planting day will take place at Corranderk in Healesville. Corranderk in Healesville was formed in 1863, as a reserve for the Kulin people who had been moved away from Melbourne. Since closing in 1924, the site has endured nearly a century of poor land management and the Wandoon Estate who manage the property are working to rejuvenate the land on behalf of it’s traditional owners; the Wurundjeri people, and the local species who have inhabited the land alongside them.

Both the Helmeted Honeyeater and Leadbeater’s Possum are critically endangered, and are found in the Healesville area. The rejuvenation works at Coranderrk have been specifically designed to meet their habitat requirements, in order to boost their existing population.

Participants will be greeted onsite by Wurundjeri Elder and will plant a short 10 minute walk from the property.

Pana Chocolate will provide the necessities (including chocolate!), however gardening gloves, waterproof shoes, gardening trowels,  others snacks and clothes to keep warm will be essential.
