Judith Eardley Save Wildlife

The Judith Eardley Save Wildlife Association (JESWA) is a charity that was established from the legacy of Judith Eardley, who loved all animals. Created in 2000, it has raised over $2.5 million towards saving both local wildlife and animals in need around the world.

JESWA has donated $370,000 to Yarra4Life for the purpose of carrying out on-ground works that directly benefit native wildlife. In 2009 $50,000 of this was used along with other funding to purchase and covenant a 3.2ha property adjacent the Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve. The remainder of the funds were successfully allocated late 2013 as part of the Judith Eardley Yarra Wildlife Grant. The successful applicants were:

• Greening Australia Victoria ($225,050): “Improving habitat complexity for endangered animals at Yellingbo and Warramate Nature Conservation Reserves”

• Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater ($91,122.24): “Consolidating the core: targeted revegetation to promote connectivity within the Woori Yallock creek corridor, Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve”

• Warburton Primary School ($6,000): “Warburton Primary School Sustainability Hub”
